Jessie has a Masters of Science in Literacy Education from Nazareth College and a Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education from SUNY Geneseo. She is a certified Special Education and Reading teacher with 10 years of classroom teaching experience at the middle and high school levels. Jessie also has two years of experience in administration, as the Assistant Director of ABC International School in Tokyo, Japan. She has a strong background in adolescent development and cognitive science that provides the foundations needed for working with a wide variety of ability levels. Her students joke that "she speaks fluent dyslexia." Jessie specializes in working with students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities, dysgraphia, executive functioning disorder, ADHD/ADD, autism spectrum disorder, and English language learners.
Academic Coaching: Weekly or bi-weekly-1 hour sessions to create organization systems, assess reading and writing levels, remediate literacy skills, and provide direct study skills instruction for middle school, high school and college level students.
One to One Writing Coaching is designed around the needs of the client. Working by video and shared documents a certified teacher will support their client through the steps of the writing process.
Editing and Revision does not require face-to-face interactions. Clients submit a draft and within 24 hours the draft will be edited for basic punctuation, grammar, and spelling. We also offer an upgrade for clients who need their paper revised immediately.
